American System "D" Keg Couplers
The American Sankey System "D" Single Valve, Keg Coupler Valve is the most used draft beer and wine keg connector used in North America. We have a variety of different makes and models to suit every need of the commercial bar, pub, restaurant and tavern operator as well as the home bar owner. The Series S coupler's probe protrudes well below the bottom of the tap in comparison with the Series D couplers of this page which are flush in the closed position.
Check Tap by Brewery for the kegs which use this tap. All our keg couplers are selected from the finest the brewing industry has to offer. They are equipped with integral safety relief valve which will prevent internal keg pressures from rising above the 50-60 psi level. This relief device will also allow relief of coupler pressure after the coupler is disconnected from the keg. All our couplers are designed for maximum flow in either single or series keg dispensing. All but the twin probe have a backflow check valve on the gas and liquid side to prevents liquid from reentering the keg or gas line.
The keg coupler is the piece of equipment that attaches the gas line and beer line to the beer keg. The gas line from the Co2 tank's regulator connects to the larger 5/16 tail piece on the side of the coupler opposite the lever. The beer hose going to the beer faucet's shank tail piece also attache to the keg coupler at the top.
All keg couplers come with a 5/16" gas hose tail piece on the side. Only the assemblies come with a 3/16" tail piece on the top beer side. Stainless Steel tail pieces are supplied with all s/s couplers.
We have specific couplers designed for both beer and wine kegs. Beer kegs can use any of the couplers but all USA commercial establishments are now required to use stainless steel for the lower pH of beer. Wine requires either a plastic probe coupler or a 304 stainless steel (S/S) coupler.
A full coupler assembly comes with the beer nut, and 3/16 nipple and a beer washer if required. All stainless steel and wine coupler assemblies come with the stainless steel nipple as well as a beer nut and washer.
Some System "D" and "S" couplers can be supplied with different color handles for large quantity orders to aid bar managers in distinguishing beers in a large cold rooms.
Highest Standards in Keg Couplers for all situations a bar and tavern operator or individual may have. We will also supply all households with the same fine couplers we sell to the commercial taverns.
The draught beer keg coupler or valve allows the gas (CO2, Nitrogen, Air or Blended beer & stout gas) to enter the keg and the kegs beverage (beer, ale, stout, porter, wine, soda, alt etc.) to exit the beer keg.
The gas line from the primary or secondary regulator connects to the 5/16" tailpiece on the coupler.
The beverage exits via tailpiece which is connected to a hose going to the beer faucet's shank tailpiece. This is normally a 3/16" tail piece in residential and direct draw applications and is the tailpiece supplied with all our coupler assemblies. A 5/16", 3/8" or ½ tailpiece is used in most long draw commercial applications and for these we offer the coupler only which allow you to order the nut and nipple separately. Perlick Low Profile coupler has a built in 3/16" tail piece on the side opposite the 5/16" gas nipple.
All keg couplers come with a 5/16" gas hose tail piece on the side.
We have specific couplers designed for both beer and wine kegs. Beer kegs can use any of the couplers but all USA commercial establishments are now required to use stainless steel for the lower pH of beer, wine and cider. Cider and wine requires either a plastic probe coupler or a 304 stainless steel (S/S) probe coupler.
